Connor Hayes
UEFA C-License
Having experienced the high and lows of coming through the academy systems at Fulham, QPR, Reading, Watford, and Plymouth Argyle, Connor then went on to play professional standard with now liquidated club Rushden & Diamonds. Following this, Connor continued playing semi professional football whilst completing a BSc in Psychology and Sport, and an MSc in Management, giving him a deep understanding of both the mental and physical aspects required for football development and performance.
Competing in various international tournaments, including the prestigious Dallas Cup in the USA, and multiple tournaments across Europe has exposed Connor to different styles of football and cultures. Shaping the way he sees the game today.
Connor has a strong coaching background having coached young players at various clubs and academies in the UK and Australia. Notably working alongside former A-League professional Zenon Caravella at the Caravella Football Academy, as well as having taught and coached young players in Tanzania, where his understanding of football's role in community and development was broadened. Now based in New Zealand, Connor is a qualified coach who co-runs VIA Football, dedicated to being about the players, and for the players; blending technical detail with the life lessons learned throughout his own journey. Connor is set to begin obtaining his OFC B-License in February 2026.
Max Terry
UEFA C-License
Max Terry is a qualified football coach holding a UEFA C License and is set to begin his OFC B-License in February 2026. Max moved to New Zealand four years ago, bringing a strong European coaching foundation alongside valuable experience within the local football environment.
Max' coaching background includes experience working in non-league football in the UK and managing the Wilfried Zaha Academy, where he was highly focused on player development in a high performance, development led environment. Alongside coaching, Max works as a primary school teacher, which strongly influences his coaching philosophy. He places a strong emphasis on clear communication, player development, strong processes, and creating a positive, engaging learning environment for all young players he coaches.
Max now co-runs VIA Football and is passionate about helping players develop technically, build confidence, and grow young players understanding and love for the game.
